Will it be a scheduled time each week or whenever you are available?
The material will be in the form of a series of narrated video presentations that a participant can view whenever it's convenient for them. There will be a Discussion Panel to ask questions that our presenters will answer online. We hope to also have a video chat option for parents to be introduced to our staff and ask questions in a live format that we will try to offer at a time that is an otion for the most families. We're thinking evenings after children are in bed may be best!
Should my one year old be present during the session?
During our regular BrightStart, there are activities that parents and children do together. For BrightStart Online we hope to have activities for parents to do with their children in an online format. As examples, we are planning to post videos of storytime with the books we provide to families that are participating in BrightStart and craft activities that will use the materials in the Craft Kit enrolled families will provide.
How will we receive the diapers/craft bags?
Our thought is to distribute the Craft Kits, diapers and other tools on a weekly or biweekly basis. Families can come by our offoce location at 20 Hartford Road in MAnchester and pick up their materials either by appointment, or we can arrange to leave the items in a labeled bag for each family as a 'Grab and Go'.
Will we receive gift cards for those involved in WIC?
This is a bit of a problem for us. In the past, we have received support fromof local grocery stores that provide the WIC gift cards. Due to the chaos and disruptions we're all going through right now, we haven't received any cards yet. In place of gift cards our plan is to offer additional free diapers and wipes, of about the same value as a $10 gift card to WIC families.
